Why bridge?
Bridge is one of the great mind sports and the richest of all card games. Like chess, the basic rules take minutes to learn and you can keep getting better for the rest of your life. Unlike chess, you never play alone: you and your partner are a team, and working together is half the fun.
The rules you need today
- Four players, two teams. Your partner sits opposite you; the players on your left and right are the other side.
- Cards rank as usual: Ace highest, then King, Queen, Jack, 10 … down to 2.
- Play goes clockwise, one card from each player. Those four cards are a trick.
- The one rule that matters most: if you can follow suit, you must.
- The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, and the winner leads to the next one.
- Your goal for now: win as many tricks as you can for your side.
Play a deal now
Try one simple deal against computer players. You play your own cards at the bottom of the screen and your partner’s cards at the top. There is no time limit and nothing to lose — just follow suit and try to win tricks.
How did you do?
At the end the player gives you up to three stars. One star on a first try already shows real talent; two stars is rare; three stars is exceptional even after a few attempts. Play it again — you will be surprised how quickly you see more.
