The Bridge Federation of India is proud to announce that India A won the Bronze Medal in the Men’s Team Championship at the 5th Asia Cup Bridge Championships 2026, held from 21 to 27 June 2026 at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon, Goa.
The championship, organised by the Bridge Federation of India, brought together leading bridge teams from across Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. The Men’s Teams event featured 15 teams, with India represented by two teams.
🥉 India A Wins Bronze
India A secured a place on the podium after an impressive campaign in the Men’s Team Championship.
After the qualification rounds, India A advanced to the knockout stages. The team narrowly missed a place in the final but came back strongly in the Bronze Medal Play-off, defeating Bangladesh B to secure the Bronze Medal.
The final podium in the Men’s Team Championship was:

🥈 Silver – China
🥉 Bronze – India A
🇮🇳 India A – Bronze Medal Team
The Indian Men’s Team was selected following the National Men’s Coaching Camp and Selection process conducted by BFI. The team comprised three pairs:
Subhash Gupta – Sandeep Thakral
Rajeshwar Tewari – Sumit Mukherjee
Sagnik Roy – Kaustabh Nandi
These three pairs were the top three pairs in the final ranking at the National Men’s Coaching Camp and were selected to represent India Team A at the Asia Cup.
A Strong International Performance
India A demonstrated considerable strength throughout the championship against some of Asia’s leading bridge-playing nations. The official Asia Cup records show India A competing against teams including China, Hong Kong China, Japan and Bangladesh, among others.
The Bronze Medal adds another significant international achievement to India’s record in the Asia Cup and reflects the continued strength of Indian bridge at the Asian level.
