Indian Chain produced a commanding performance to defeat favourites Formidables 99β25 IMPs in the final of the 5th Balrampur Chini East Zone Open Bridge Championship 2026, held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata. Narendra Chitlangia, Sujit Kumar Bhattacharjee, Joy Narayan Roy, Swapan Some, Sourendra Kumar Dutta and Tanmay Mazumder combined brilliantly to claim the Team of Four title.
Sapan Desai and Debabrata Majumder also emerged champions in the Matchpoint Pairs, topping the field with 3,017.7 Match Points.
The championship was held from 14β16 August 2026 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Newtown, Kolkata, organised by the West Bengal Bridge Association. It was a BFI Category II Ranking Point Event and featured three events: Team of Four, IMP Pairs and Matchpoint Pairs.
