  FormatTwo elimination rounds
Elim 1 -> Elim 2: 12 pairs
Elim 2 -> Finals: 8 pairs
One elimination round Elim -> Finals: 8 pairs

 These procedures refer to Open/Men, Mixed and Ladies categories. The senior trials are handled separately. The selection trials will be held live under guidelines issued by SAI in form of evaluation of coaching camps and competitions. The camps will consist of Elimination and Final stages.

WEIGHTAGES AT EACH STAGE:

The following Weightages will be given to camp performance, ranking points and carry forward from elimination stage only.

All the camp performance points, carry forward and ranking points will be translated in terms of Victory Points

For clarification: Round = 1 Match. Stage = Sum of all matches played in that league

Stages (Open/Mixed/Women)VP ScoreRanking Points WeightageCarry Forward Points (1st Elim)Carry Forward Points (2nd Elim)
Elimination – 1Actual VP Score1.5 VPs per match in that stage to topper and proportionate VPs to others with last Qualifier getting zero Vps
Elimination – 2Actual VP Score1.5 VPs per match in that stage to topper and proportionate VPs to others with last Qualifier getting zero Vps0.5 Vps per match to topper   and proportionate VPs to others with last Qualifier getting zero Vps
FinalActual VP Score1 VP per match in that stage to topper and proportionate VPs to others with last Qualifier getting zero Vps 0.5 Vps per match to topper and proportionate VPs to others with last Qualifier getting zero Vps

 The Technical Committee has recommended to convert all the points in Victory Points (VP) and the following formula has been suggested

  1. All stages will be of single or double round robin basis. The weights allocated for Ranking Points or Carry Forward Points will be multiplied with the number of rounds to be played in that stage.
  2. The last qualifier will obtain Zero Vps for Ranking points as well for Carry Forward Points and other pairs will be proportionately adjusted as per their score.
  3. Scoring will be Cross IMPS method averaged to number of comparisons at all stages. There will be no outliners removed and the net IMP difference will be in decimals. If the partial decimal difference is upto 0.5 it will be rounded off to lower integer and 0.5 and above difference will be rounded off to next higher integer.
  4. The net difference of IMPS (in full integer after rounding off) for any match played will be converted to VPs as per applicable WBF Continuous scale for that round.

NEW PARTNERSHIPS:

Points are awarded exclusively for partnerships only. However, individual players forming new partnerships can avail 30% of the highest-ranking points awarded to him/her in any partnership based on the total ranking points published for the respective selection cycle in contention provided both individuals are part of the original qualified list of pair of that respective category. The sum of both the total ranking points calculated above will be actual ranking point awarded for that respective pair.
