India’s premier bridge team, Formidables, once again proved why they are the team to beat, clinching the team title at the prestigious All India Shree Cement Bridge Championship for the fourth consecutive year at the magnificent Biswa Bangla Convention Centre.
The champion team comprising Sumit Mukherjee, Kaustabh Nandi, Rajeshwar Tiwari, Kaustabh Milind Bendre, Sayantan Kushari and Sagnik Roy displayed remarkable resilience and class in a nail-biting final against Team Monica Jajoo comprising of (S Sundarram, Vijay Devdass, Sanjit Dey, Binod Shaw, Somesh Bhattacharya and Monica Jajoo)
After trailing early by 20 IMPs (34–14), Formidables mounted a spectacular comeback, dominating the next three rounds with scores of 18, 23 and 24 IMPs respectively. With an additional 9.5 carryover IMPs earned during the Swiss League stage, the defending champions sealed victory with a final tally of 88.5 IMPs against Team Monica Jajoo’s impressive 78 IMPs.
