Mavericks team comprising of Subodh Maskara – Subhash Gupta, Keyzad Anklesaria – Debabrata Majumder and Jaggy Shivdasani – Rajeshwar Tewari participated at the invitational event held in Iceland under the banner “WBT Masters, 2024” organised by World Bridge Holding (WBH) a private group of esteemed players which conducts online (BBO) and live events in hybrid model.
Mavericks cruised smoothly as leaders in the Qualifying league of 18 invited teams round robin (16 rounds only played) and faced second seed Team Apres- Bridge Champs (Sabine Auken, Roy Welland, Morten Bilde, Dorte Bilde, Dennis Bilde, Martin Schaltz) in the final knockout match. Four Teams Qualified for the knockouts.
The final league did not augur well for Team Mavericks as they trailed by 67 Imps in the first and could not recover in the second set thereby conceding the title to the hosts team.
