Junior National Championships and Camps for next World Youth Championships

The Bridge Federation of India (BFI) is pleased to announce the Junior Development Programme and Selection Policy for the Indian Teams that will represent the country at the World Transnational Youth Championships 2026.
(Dates and venue of the Championship are yet to be announced by the World Bridge Federation.)

Team Categories

India proposes to field teams in the following categories:

  • Under–16
  • Under–21
  • Under–26
  • Under–31
  • Girls

Participation in the World Youth Teams Championship 2026 in each category will be subject to the recommendation of the Junior Selection Committee and the availability of financial support from the Sports Authority of India (SAI).


Coaching Programme

  • A Coach for each category will be announced in advance.
  • Online play sessions / pair events will be conducted — two sessions in November 2025 and two sessions in December 2025, prior to the Junior Nationals. One session will be exclusively for juniors, and another will be part of the Mentor–Junior Programme. Coaches and mentors will assess participant performance.
  • It is mandatory for all juniors to participate in the Junior National Championship to be held from 27th–29th December 2025 at Nashik.
  • All juniors aspiring to represent India at the World Youth Championships must participate in the online coaching programme up to the second week of July 2026.
  • The first coaching camp will be held in February 2026, followed by the second camp in the second week of June 2026, and the final camp for selected teams in the second week of July 2026.
  • The final assessment by the National Panel of Selectors and Coaches will determine the Indian Teams for the World Youth Transnational Championships 2026, proposed to be held in China.
  • The Junior Nationals will be held at Nashik from 27th–29th December 2025.
