The Prime Series kicked off with the Women pairs event consisting of 30 pairs in the Elimination round. In the 18 pairs final, Aparna Sain – Bharati Dey came strong in the finishing rounds and won the event. It was a close margin for Alka Jain and Devi Bhatnagar who eventually were Runners up.
