BFI is deeply saddened to hear the loss of our beloved player Shri. Manas Mukherjee who passed away at Kolkata. as he breathed his last on the evening of October 20, 2024. Prior to his death, he was in a coma for the last three odd months after suffering a stroke. Indian Bridge’s most natural player has lost his battle against death. The man who has won so many bridge battles unfortunately couldn’t win the hardest battle of life.
One of the pioneer player of Indian Railways, he was a strong dominant in the national circuit and his empowered success included many nationals wins and international representations. Undoubtedly he was one of the Frontline players at his time, won many laurels in partnership with Late Pritish Kushari and as a regular member in the Indian Railways team.
Starting their journey from Mumbai Manas Mukherjee and Late Pritish Kushari during 1984-86 played together achieving tremendous success. In 1986 November they joined South Eastern Railways, HQ and started to represent Indian Railways team in several national major tournaments.
He retired from Indian Railways and continued his bridge passion till his last.
A salute to the great stalwart of Indian Bridge !
