The BFI newly elected Executive Committee held its first meeting at New Delhi on 11th September at IPE Global House, New Delhi. There were two important discussions related to the Indian Bridge Players which are notified as below:
a) Establishment of President’s Fund for assistance of Bridge Players:
The newly elected President announced the establishment of a President’s Fund to assist bridge players with payment of entrance fees at tournaments. If any bridge player requires assistance for payment of entrance fees for tournament, he or she may send an e mail to Mr. Sundareshan at [email protected] indicating the circumstances. In due course it is hoped that the fund would provide assistance for travel and stay too.
b) BFI to consult stake holders to finalize selection methodology
It was also decided to hold consultations with the stake holders to finalize the methodology for selecting future Indian teams for international events. This consultation session with players will be held during the National Masters event at Delhi in October.
Bridge Education Progam: (A Key to growth of Indian Bridge)
BFI has formed a committee to focus on Bridge Education called Education Promotion and Teaching Committee (EPTC). EPTC has plans to launch Bridge education in a standardized way across the country as detailed in the enclosed approach Document.
