NON ACCEPTANCE OF OLD Rs. 500 & Rs. 1000 notesNovember 16, 2016
The legal tender character of the existing bank notes in denominations of ₹500 and ₹1000 issued by the Reserve bank of India till November 8, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as Specified Bank Notes) stands withdrawn. In consequence thereof these Bank Notes cannot be used for transacting business and/or store of value for future usage.
With respect to above notification by RBI, the BFI Announcement Regarding Payment of Entry Fees for Masters Tournament –
1. All entry fees shall be payable only using the newly issued notes or small denomination notes (old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes will not be accepted)
2. Given the current circumstances, as a special case for this tournament alone, cheques will be accepted by the Treasurer, BFI for entry fees. The final amount payable is to be filled in by the team after elimination / conclusion of event (to include the amounts required for the QF, SF and Finals for the qualifying teams) .
3. Teams are requested to carry with them sufficient cash in new notes or a sufficient number of cheque leaves to make the necessary payments for all the events.
For the Winter Nationals 2016 from 12th December, All entry fees shall be payable only using the newly issued notes or small denomination notes (old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes will not be accepted) or Demand Drafts favouring “Rajasthan Contract Bridge Association” payable at Ajmer for Bank of Baroda, Opp. G.P.O. Branch
