U.P. B.A. (Kr. Vijayanand Singh) & Indian Railways Qualify for the Team of Four Final
In the 4*14 boards semi-finals played yesterday, UPBA (Kr. Vijayanand Singh) comprising of Kr. VijayanaOndn SBiBngOh, Pradeep singh, Indresh Agarwal, B.N. Rastogi & A.K. Sinha beat West Bengal Bridge Association “B” (Arijit Guha, Sovan Mitra, S.Roychowdhary, Subroto Saha, S.Ghosh,
Shailranjan Das) by 50 IMPs (137-87). The match was competitive till half way stage, with WBBA “B” leading by 8 IMPs. However after that it was all the way a one side affair in favour of the host UP team. They took the 3rd set by 23 and the 4th set by 35 IMPs to easily beat the Bengal team.
In the second semi-final, INDIAN RAILWAYS (Debbrata Majumder, Sumit Mukherjee., Amarnath Banerjee, Rana Roy, S. Dutta, P.Agarwal) beat Maharashtra (Jitu Solani, Dipak Poddar, Sandip Karmarkar, Anand K.S. Samant, R.A.Agarwal, Anal Shah) by 47 IMPs (125-78). This match also was interesting till the 3rd session with Railways leading by a mere 13 IMPs. But the last set saw the reigning champions Railways crushing their opponents by a huge margin of 34 IMPs to reach the finals.
As both the matches were interesting till end, the Vu-graph team showed both the matches live on BBO. The semi-final results were:

The Juniors Team of Four event has also started since yesterday. 7 teams (5 from Raibeedpura village and 2 from Salem) are participating in the event and will play an all-play-all, 8-board matches against all their opponents. 3 rounds have been completed yesterday and 4 more rounds (including one bye round for each team) will be played today before the winners can be identified.
The MINI Bridge session was also held yesterday, for the sub-juniors. We all senior bridge players participating in this championship would like to thank Mr. Deshpande & Mr. Ukidave, who are responsible for nurturing the Juniors & Sub-Juniors with bridge coaching sessions.
The 3-session elimination round of Subhash Agarwala Pairs event was also played yesterday. 56 Pairs participated in the event and played 18 boards in each session. 22 TOP pairs have qualified to the Agarwala Pairs final, to be played today. They will be joined by 6 Pairs of losing semi-finalist teams for the 28-Pair finals. See detailed result in Bulletin.
