I would also like to thank the WBF President Mr. Giannarigo Rona and his team for making a couple of visits to India on our request to finalise the possibility of awarding 2015 World Championships to India. Despite a limited availability of funds, I think this is once in a life time opportunity for us to showcase India to the global Bridge community.
I want to bid for this positively and seek all your support and active participation towards ensuring that this event is a grand success.
I am happy to inform you that Bridge has been recognized by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs and have been upgraded as a “Priority” sports.
Your Federation is updated with the returns made to the Registrar of Societies Act and the Department of Income Tax as per the requirements of the respective departments.
The performance of our National teams in the 2013 World Championships was not as we expect them to perform. The Junior Development Program is still in its early stages. However, we would like to send our representation (Junior / Youth / Girls) to the World Youth Championship 2014 if we identify a confident group with a fighting spirit.
I thank the entire IndianBridge fraternity for your active participation and contribution to the game and wish that we continue these efforts to take the game to the next level in the coming year.
